Are you Sick of being Tired?

By: Dr. Terri Hawkins

More and more people today are waking up after a full night’s sleep feeling tired. Afraid of feeling like a chronic complainer they fight their way through yet another day. The question is, “why are we so tired, and what can be done about it?” Many have labeled their lethargic or tired feeling as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Epstein Barr Virus; Candida Albican, intestinal parasites, Mononucleosis, or some other dreaded disturbance that is causing anything but a full-filling life. Anyway you look at it, the immune system should be strengthened. It is the immune system that fights off disease-causing microorganisms and that engineers the healing process. It is definitely the key to fighting every kind of disturbance to the body. The immune system can only function properly if it is cared for and nurtured. This means getting all the right nutrients and providing the right environment, plus avoiding those things that tend to depress immunity.

Some of the things that compromise our immune systems’ defensive abilities are chemicals in household cleaners, overuse of antibiotics, and other drugs. These things, as well as pesticides, food additives, exposure to environmental pollutants, all place a strain on the immune system. Something else that is often played down but is of a significant notice is stress. Stress depletes the body of needed nutrients, places undue demands on the

This results in impaired healing ability and lowered defense against infection. Stress, although a perception of what is happening in our environment, will often manifest as a physical disorder. This is not to lessen the importance of the problem, but merely to identify the source. Proper immune function is an intricate balancing act. The body is similar in nature to that of a car. The fuel and fluids that enter it determine the performance. The more quality of higher-grade substances entering the body, the better functioning. Whether it is understood or not, or accepted, diet and emotions will always be the number one factor to address with any health disturbance.

What should the diet consist of you might wonder. It has been determined that a balance of 2/3 alkaline to 1/3 acid forming foods is of great importance. Following is a list of some of the foods in each category:Alkaline forming foods: agar, alfalfa, almonds, apples, apricots, artichokes, bananas, beets, blackberries, broccoli, brussel sprouts, burdock, cabbage, cantaloupe, carob, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chard, cherries, chives, colloidal minerals, apple cider, coconut, cranberries, cucumbers, dandelion greens, dates, dill, endive, figs, flaxseed, garlic, grapes, grapefruit, green beans, kelp, leeks, lemons, lettuce, lima beans, limes, mango, melons, millet, mint, molasses, greens, nectarines, okra, olives, olive oil, onions, oranges, papaya, parsley, parsnips, passion fruit, peaches, pears, fresh peas, persimmons, pineapple, plums,

The Health Minute - A clean colon is key to good health

According to health professionals, 90 percent of Americans have impacted colons. This video is a must see for anyone who is concerned about their health and healing. Whether you're suffering from in...

There are specific herbs, vitamins and supplements that further help to build the immune system. Rather than take each one singularly, it would be more beneficial to do a combination. Best to eat a diet of 50% raw foods (or more) and fresh “live” juices – not canned or bottled, for this process kills the enzymes, which is the life force that creates optimal health and needed for regeneration of cells. A diet consisting mostly of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, plus raw nuts and seeds is more idea. Consume plenty of water – at least 8 glasses a day, plus juices. Water flushes out toxins and aids in reducing muscle pain. Again, as you have already read many times over, it is necessary to build and cleanse simultaneously. For if you build

constantly without cleansing – there is no strong foundation in which to build on, and if you cleanse without building, the body becomes weak – that is way it is necessary to balance both. The best way to cleanse or detox the body is by doing Colon Irrigations or Colonics as many call it. This procedure is not painful in anyway, nor is it intimidating as one often envisions. You are in a very nice setting, able to read or talk on your cell phone through the whole procedure.             These preventative measures could save one from setting up major problems on down the road. What good is it to live a long life without any quality? Take these steps now to ensure a fuller life – a life with meaning and direction.
